

Phyllis was dedicated to her family. She and her husband Bill, who was in the U.S. Navy, had the privilege to live in many different areas including: Virginia, Washington D.C., California, and Hawaii. She also worked at Sear’s at Crabtree Valley Mall for the last 32 years, where she loved her co-workers. She considered this her second family. Phyllis never met a stranger and impacted many people’s lives.
A Celebration of Phyllis’ life will be held on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at The Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bill; daughters, Kathy Parsons and husband, Jack of Winston Salem, and Stacie King and husband, George of Knightdale; son, Jody Midgette and wife, Mary of Clayton; grandchildren: Allyson Smith and husband, Chris, Colton Parsons, Joshua Parsons, Andrew Welliver of the USMC, James Midgette, and Holly Midgette.
She will also be missed by her 2 brothers, William Kelly and wife Kathy of Knightdale, and Danny Prince and wife Betty of Las Vegas.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Cancer Centers of NC “Dedicated to the fight” 4101 Macon Pond Rd., Raleigh 27607 in memory of Phyllis, who courageously fought ovarian cancer for over 10 years. The family would like to extend their appreciations to Dr. Roy Cromartie and his wonderful staff for their love and care.
