Phyllis Ann Stewart

Phyllis Ann Stewart, 73, of Raleigh, died on May 2, 2018. She was born in Texas, moving to Oklahoma City at a young age. She remained there until meeting her husband, James. Due to being in the Air Force, they moved back to Texas. Following his time in the service, they returned to Oklahoma before moving to North Carolina.

Phyllis taught computers at Leesville Middle School for twenty years before retiring. She was also a devoted Christian, having been a Sunday school teacher, and holding many roles in the church’s she was a member of. After moving to North Carolina, she and James became members of Creedmoor Road Baptist Church. Phyllis was a wonderful homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, James Stewart; two sons, Philip Anthony Stewart and Jay Edward Stewart; and two grandchildren, Ainsley Stewart and Addison Stewart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Theitus Walker.

A visitation will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018 from 12:00-2:00pm, with a funeral beginning at 2:00pm at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
