Preston Wilbur Person

Preston W. Person, 89, passed away on June 28, 2012 at the Hospice Home in Raleigh. Born on January 6, 1923 in Asbury, New Jersey; son of the late Russel and Harriet Hauck Person. Preston married the love of his life, Shirley June Person on October 7, 1950.

He was a US Army veteran of WW II, and following his service worked at Smith Motor Company, of Washington, NJ as a Sales Manager for over 30 years. He was a Master Mason of Mansfield Lodge 36. Preston's passions included bowling, playing cards, hunting and fishing, as well as watching his beloved NY Yankees and NC State University sports. Preston was a member of North Raleigh Presbyterian Church.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Dianne Jordan and husband Dick, of Wake Forest; son, Dennis Person and wife Paige, of Raleigh; grandchildren, Cody and Caitlin Person; brothers, John Person, of Littlestown, PA and Stanley Person and Joanne Juhl, of State College, PA; nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley in 2011; his parents, brother, Raymond Person and sister, Arline Malloy.

A Memorial service will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 3:00 pm, at North Raleigh Presbyterian Church. Private inurnment was held at Raleigh Memorial Park.
