Ralph Maurice Lyons

Ralph was born April 9, 1937, in Pottsville, PA, to the late Harry and Edna Mae Lyons. Ralph graduated from Pottsville High School and then went on to serve in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1961. During his service he was stationed in Bermuda and upon discharge, Charleston, SC. Ralph then spent most of his professional life working for IBM in both New York and then in North Carolina. He retired from IBM after over thirty years.

Ralph enjoyed traveling back to Pennsylvania and New York after moving to Raleigh in 1991. During his time up North, he was also involved with the Salvation Army. After moving to Raleigh he joined the Masons. He also enjoyed to carve, woodworking, doing puzzles, building things, collecting coins and spending time with his grandchildren. Ralph was an avid watcher of westerns and college basketball.

In addition to his wife, Patricia, of 51 years, Ralph is survived by his children, son, Webster, and his wife Amanda of Lexington, SC; and daughter Amanda, and her husband Brandon of Snow Hill, NC; grandchildren Karrson, Rayland and Jacob.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, and his five brothers, Harry Jr. “Red”, Ronald “Ron”, George, Lyle, and Richard “Rick”.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home.
