While she fought a very long and tough battle with this disease, Becky always remained optimistic and stayed upbeat during the long process. The care and loving support of her husband was truly a blessing.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 31st at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St. Mary’s Street, Raleigh, N.C. starting at 10:00A.M. prior to the funeral service at 11:00A.M. in the Wynne Center. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.

Rebecca is survived by her husband, Christopher Surrett and his children, Tyler and Colby Surrett. She is also survived by her daughter, Stephanie M. Martin and granddaughter, Lydia Skye Jordan; her mother, Zylphia T. Grissom; brother, Charles Zane Grissom; sister, Jennifer G. Watkins, brother-in-law, Gregory B. Watkins, Sr.; nephew, Gregory B. Watkins, Jr.; and nieces, Amanda B. Watkins and Hayley N. Watkins. Mrs. Surrett was pre-deceased by her father, Thomas Charles Grissom.
