Rhoda Sue Turner

Rhoda Sue Turner, age 77, passed away on Wednesday afternoon on November 17, 2021 at her home. Born on May 21, 1944 in Harper, Kentucky; she was the daughter of the late Carl and Nora Minex Harper and wife of the late Garland Dean Turner who preceded her in death on January 2, 2003.

Rhoda grew up and went to school in West Liberty, Kentucky. She was from a large family and loved all her brothers and sisters and her large extended family. Rhoda married the love of her life Garland Dean Turner. They had three children Vickie, Tracy and Todd. Garland and Rhoda were married for 35 years until his death in 2003. Rhoda loved raising her children and spent her life taking care of her family.

She also loved being a nanny and cherished the children and the families she helped daily.

Rhoda is lovingly remembered by her children: Vickie Sue Christian and husband Brain Christian of Raleigh, NC; Tracy Dean Turner and wife Jennifer Wall of Wilmington, NC; and Garland Todd Turner of Raleigh, NC; and by her grandchildren: LeAnna Nora Christian and Gabriell Sarai Turner.

Services are being held privately by the family at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Raleigh Police Memorial Foundation – PO Box 27731 – Raleigh, NC 27611-7731 or through www.rpdmemorial.wordpress.com.
