I met Richard for the first time when he was seeking help starting the 200 Club of Wake County. Thus began a decades long relationship with he and Patty. He was very committed and worked tirelessly and selflessly to make the 200 Club a tribute to the first responders of Wake County and to Paul's memory.
His sense of dedication and integrity were unmatched. My condolences to the family.

I met Richard when I lived at Capitol Oaks. We both loved music and dancing, so on Fridays we were dancing partners. He was a very good dancer. We also talked alot about family. We became good friends. I definitely miss our talks and friendship.

Richard will be missed by so many! He just like Patty were such wonderful people. I always enjoyed our times way back when, we would meet at his favorite place a couple of weeks after the annual meeting and lunch and talk about how that went. There were six of us including Richard and Patty eating lunch and then Richard would be signing all these letters to get out to members of the 200 Club of Wake County. He was a great person, and inspiration to the community and especially when it came to those in public safety. May you Rest In Peace now with your wife Patty beside you and your son Paul with you also.

Much love!

Mr. Hale was a very special person to many! He always had kind words and greetings every time you met him. His and (Patti's) commitment to the First Responders of Wake County was unparalleled. From the formation of The 200 Club of Wake County and all the time spent spreading the word of his appreciation to first responders, this void will take time to heal. I will always be grateful that our paths crossed and that his impact on me was so great. My condolences go out to Betsy and the entire family in this time of sorrow.
