Ricky Joseph Jordan

Ricky Joseph Jordan, 53, ascended to heaven to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, unexpectedly at his home in Asheboro, NC. He was a native of Garner, NC, and graduated from Garner Senior High in 1981. Before retiring, he was a sheetrock hanger and worked in construction.

Ricky loved music, singing and playing guitar, banjo, or harmonica (he was self-taught), and also fishing. He was a great cook at home, and excelled at grilling for family cook-outs. He enjoyed reading the Bible and sharing what he learned. Ricky was never afraid to speak his mind, and no matter what life threw at him, he was always determined to overcome any obstacle. His motto was, “Grab a backpack, life's a never know until you try.”

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Bertha and Joe Jordan, and his brothers, Ronnie and Danny Ray Jordan.

He is survived by his daughter, Casey Jordan and her husband, Clark Sides, of Asheboro, NC.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 11am-noon at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St. Mary's Street, Raleigh, NC 27605. A graveside service will follow at 1pm at Knollwood Memorial Park, 4362 US 70 Bus Hwy W, Clayton, NC 27520.
