Robert Charles Greene Sr.

Bob was a native of Skowhegan Maine and the son of the late Earl L. and Agnes T. Greene. He graduated from Greensboro High School, and served in the US Navy from 1942-1945. After returning home from WWII, he graduated from NCSU with a degree in Textile Engineering. For most of Bob’s career he worked in the Textile Industry, and then owned his own Personnel Business.

Bob was a long time member of Saint Michael’s Episcopal Church in Raleigh, serving on the Vestry and was a member of the choir. He was also a member of the Raleigh Host Lions Club.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Marjorie P. Greene; son, Chuck Greene and wife Beverly, of Fletcher, NC; and a daughter, Linda Greene of Beaverton, OR.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Saint Michael’s Episcopal Church, 1520 Canterbury Rd. Raleigh. The inurnment will follow in the memorial garden of the church. The family will receive friend s following the inurnment in the church Parish Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Springmoor Endowment Fund, Saint Michael’s Episcopal Church, or Meals on Wheels.
