Robert Ian Fairweather

Ian was born July 4, 1969, and would often joke that everyone was always partying for his birthday. He grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, and graduated from Broughton High School in 1988.

He spent his working life with his family at Colin Fairweather and Sons. In recent years he devoted his time to caring for his mother and spending cherished moments with friends and family.

Ian will be remembered for his generosity and warmth. He had a special way of making others feel safe and happy, whether with a joke, a riddle or a random remark or memory. He was unselfish and always put the needs and happiness of others first.

He was preceded in death by his father, Colin Fairweather. He is survived by his mother, Jeane Fairweather; his brothers Christopher Fairweather and Keith Fairweather; Keith's wife, Carrie; and their 2 daughters Onica and Siera Fairweather.

A visitation will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Brown-Wynne, 300 Saint Mary's Street, Raleigh.
