Robert Scott Morrison

Robert Scott Morrison of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2026. Bob was born in Philadelphia and raised in Pennsauken, New Jersey. He was the son of Robert and June Morrison and was predeceased by his parents and his brother, David William Morrison. He is survived by his sister, Bonnie June Morrison St. John, his brother, Thomas B. Morrison, sister-in-law, Diane Morrison Lundberg, and nephews and nieces Thomas Robert Morrison, Christina Morrison, Jennifer Morrison, and Holly Morrison.

Robert was a very intelligent man, loved to read books, and was very humble in life. He graduated from Carnegie Tech University and spent his professional career as a chemical engineer in the paper processing industry which brought him to live in Raleigh. He did not live extravagantly, loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and Scotland. Bob was a good disciple of the Lord, and he found his extended family at First Presbyterian Church of Raleigh where he was a faithful member and teacher in the Seekers Sunday School class and long-standing member of the Christian Education Committee.

Bob is remembered at church for sporting his full kilt and Scottish regalia on holidays. He was an accomplished bagpipe player which he very much enjoyed, having played bagpipes in the University band, and became Pipe Major by his senior year. He loved to play and march with his fellow pipers. Scotland was always close to Bob’s heart. He was true to his heritage and lived in Scotland for some time where he took an active role in the excavation project of Dun Eistean – the site of the ancient Morrison Castle on the Isle of Lewis. He was a convener at the Morrison clan tent at many Highland Games, and he enjoyed speaking to members of his family tree and sharing his heritage and love for Scotland.

In keeping with his wishes, Robert’s ashes will be scattered on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland, the ancestral home of his family.
