Robert worked as a barber at State College until he was able to open his own shop becoming the sole proprietor of Five Points Barber Shop, which he operated for over 25 years becoming famous for his five dollar haircuts. His Beloved Boston Terrier, Princess, was always close to his heart.
Robert is survived by his chosen son and daughter; Geoff Avery-Foy and Kimball Sargent as well as three cousins; Betty Ruth Creech and Bill and Ted Jones.
The funeral services will be held at 10:00 on Friday, September 24th, at Pullen Memorial Baptist Church, 1801 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh, NC 27605. The family will receive friends prior to the service. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. Reception will follow the graveside service at Geoff and Kimball‘s residence.
