I was fortunate to be a colleague with Rob at IBM and Lenovo. Rob was such a true professional and caring person and a great friend. My condolences to the extended Streight family. I will miss you greatly Rob!




I met Rob at LifeTime Fitness @ 2011. We danced together at countless Zumba classes and spent much time before classes chatting and saving spots for others. He always had a smile on his face, and was always there with a hug or a fist bump. When I moved to Roanoke in 2014 he even came to visit me at the dance studio I worked at. I'm glad we got to dance together again when I returned to NC in 2019. He was larger than life and I will miss him dearly. We always joked about this picture and how it was such a great picture of the clock. 

My thoughts of big rob were a gentle kind person who taught me so much  from eating ceviche to dancing off beat sometimes . So full of life.  We met at lifetime and that is what we became a lifetime family. He is and always will  be my big brother. We danced and we had many outing for lunches and dinner. Many talks and laughter but most of all lots of hugs. I will miss you so much. I love you. Thank you again Beth for sharing him with us. 

Rob was a pillar in our Zumba classes.  As fellow Spartans, former IBMers, and LifeTime Fitness enthusiasts, we talked about MSU sports, technology, world events, or his love of travel/cultures.  Rob was a kind man and he will be missed.

Almost from the moment I started at MSU, Rob was a constant presence in my life there. Always warm and jovial and sunny, he was a joy to be around. But I didn't appreciate at the time what a zest for life and adventure he had! I am so sad that he was taken from us far too early, but so grateful that he was part of our lives. I had the great fortune of being his roommate senior year, and of seeing the start of the rest of his life when he and Beth got together.  You need only look through the pictures to see how much joy that life brought to him! To Beth and Bryan and the rest of Rob's family, I am so sorry for your loss, but so glad you have many wonderful memories of him and the way he touched and uplifted everyone who knew him.

It’s been many years since I’ve last seen Rob.  Looking at all the wonderful pictures has brought back grateful memories!!  Many broken hearts and tears as  Rob left us too soon.  My thoughts and prayers to all during this time🙏🏻💔

I met Rob when we attended MSU together. He was always kind, funny, and went out of his way to see the good in the people & world around him. I'll always remember his laugh, his smile, and the way he made everyone around him feel valued and at ease. Although he passed too soon, he will be long remembered. My heart goes out to you Beth in such a difficult time. May more than 3 decades of fond & loving memories help sustain you.

As previous comments have stated, what I will always remember about Rob is his larger than life smile. He was a big man with an even bigger heart and grin. I am happy that he chose my cousin Beth to be his life partner. It is obvious to all that knew them that they were meant to be together. I feel privileged to have known him - even if only from a distance- at most times. When I did have the pleasure to be around him, he was his usual friendly, easy going self. I found him to possess an unassuming self confidence  that really speaks to his quiet - yet assured integrity. RIP Rob ...you are one of the rare Good Guys.

I had the pleasure of working with Rob at IBM, Lenovo and Allscripts. I was blessed to have him in my life.  Rob and I became close during our years working together.  Rob was a very gentle person who had a very warm personality. He was a joy to work with and was a good friend.  I feeling a terrible sense of loss tonight after learning of his passing.

From the Life Time Family. We are truly Heartbroken.  Rob was an incredible soul who just loved to dance!  He was a huge supporter of our Zumba and Dance Jam classes since 2007.   Everybody in the community knew Rob and will miss him dearly .  I am happy I got to Chat with him Thursday in the club prior to his passing.  Our prayers go out to Family.  Rob will Dance forever in our hearts.

I just learned this sad news of Rob's passing.  I met Rob while working at Allscripts. even though I was remote in Indiana, Rob always greeted me with his big smile and welcoming hug when I came to Raleigh for meetings. My heart breaks for his family and friends. He was one of the good guys. He will be missed deeply

The world will not be the same without Rob. My entire college experience on 3 North included Rob. He was always in our room, in the hall, had a smile and a hug and a story, and always had time to listen. It was so great to reconnect with Rob and Beth upon moving to NC... and I regret thinking there was endless time to spend together later, and now that’s gone. Rob loved Beth ... completely. He treasured Beth and anyone could feel how in love he was with Beth - I’m so sorry for the loss of your husband, Beth. So sorry for the loss of Rob.

I met Rob during an overland tour of southern Africa a couple of years back. Rob only joined our group later, near the end of the tour, and yet his warm, kind and joyful spirit made a lasting impression. I was happy to stay in contact with Rob over Facebook, that way he never felt far away. I am so sad of his passing, and yet so glad I got to know Rob.  it comforts me to think that, with his family, his travels, Zumba classes, and his massive group of friends, he really lived life to the fullest.

I met Rob doing what we both love to do: dance.  To see the big man in the second row with a hug and fist bump was always a pleasure.  He was my birthday twin and all of our dance partner during “blurred lines”.  Love and healing to your family and he will always be remembered dancing!

I am so sad to learn that Rob has passed.  I met Rob my freshman year at MSU.  We were roommates my Sophomore year.  Rob was a dear friend, mentor in some ways, and a great guy.   Beth I am so sorry for your loss.  
May God wrap all of us in loving arms as we remember our dear friend.

Bob was such a positive force of nature at MSU - my thoughts are with his entire family at this time. Much love to all.

Rob was a very nice man. He always had a smile for everyone in our zumba classes. He will be remembered and missed. My deep condolences to his family and friends.
