Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Bob was the son of the late Ann and Norbert Werner. He was also predeceased by his brother, Jeffrey Werner.
Bob was a successful businessman, an avid golfer, a poker player, and a loyal friend to many. He especially enjoyed traveling with his wife and family, creating lasting memories wherever they went. A devoted member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Clinton, NC, Bob faithfully served as a vestry member, Senior Warden, and Treasurer. He was also committed to his community, serving several terms on the Clinton Planning Board.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; his daughters, Lisa (Matt) and Lindsay (Jeremy); and his cherished grandchildren, Davis, McKenna, and Harrison Rouse who fondly called him “Bobu”. He is also survived by his step-grandchildren, Breanne Jamison and Nadia Jamison; his great-grandson, Alexander Jamison; his sister, Sharon Brister; his brothers, Bill Werner (Susan) and David Werner (Stephanie); and many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Bob will be remembered for his generosity, sense of humor, steadfast faith, and the love he shared with his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of service, friendship, and devotion that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 9th at 2pm at Saint Michael's Episcopal Church, 1520 Canterbury Rd. Raleigh, NC 27608. A reception will follow the service in the church parish hall.
