Born on September 15, 1963, in Brooklyn, NY, Robin was the daughter of Karen and Ralph Montanus. She was raised in Boca Raton, FL, where she attended Boca Christian School. Robin was an incredible athlete, excelling in many sports and proudly playing varsity volleyball, where she was a natural leader on her team. Even from a young age, she radiated warmth, joy, and positivity. Her smile could light up a room, and her spirit was a constant source of comfort, laughter, and strength to everyone around her.
Robin loved the adventure of traveling the world with her beloved husband, Robert (Bob) Greer Sr. Their love story was filled with devotion, laughter, and shared purpose. From the moment they met, their connection was undeniable. They cherished one another deeply and supported each other in every season of life. Whether navigating life’s challenges or celebrating its joys, they did it hand in hand, with unwavering love and mutual admiration. Their marriage was a beautiful example of what it means to love fully, faithfully, and without reservation.
Robin had a remarkable career as an executive secretary, first at Deloitte and later at Dumac. She was both brilliant and compassionate — a rare combination that made her deeply respected and genuinely loved by everyone she worked with. Her sharp mind, professionalism, and gracious spirit left a lasting impression, and she brought excellence, care, and heart to every detail of her work.
Though she lived with cancer for 16 years, Robin never let it define her. Instead, she chose to encourage and uplift others walking the same road, becoming a source of inspiration to everyone around her. Her faith in Jesus, her deep love for her family, and her courage through adversity were hallmarks of her beautiful life.
Robin lived with passion — she had the most beautiful singing voice and shared it with joy as a member of the choir at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church. She loved music and movies, and she was a championship bowler who brought the same heart and determination to the lanes that she brought to life. Most of all, she cherished time spent with the people she loved. Her life was a radiant example of strength, joy, and faith.
She is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Greer Sr.; her children Bryan Strole (Lacey), Kelsey Magnanti (Giovanni), and Karin Strole; and her beloved grandchildren Ellie and Zachary Strole, Cambria and Madelyn Magnanti, and Aubree and Haley Strole. She is also survived by her mother Karen Montanus, and her siblings Mark Montanus, David Montanus, and Lisa DeClaire, and many cherished extended family and friends.
A celebration of Robin’s life was held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church, 2209 Fairview Rd, Raleigh. The family received friends immediately following the service at the church. All are welcome to join in honoring the light she brought to the world.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you simply honor her by sharing kindness, playing her favorite music, or spending time with those you love.
Brown-Wynne, 300 Saint Mary's Street, Raleigh is serving the Greer family.
