He was a Certified Public Accountant and partner in the firm of Petway Mills & Pearson, PA. As a graduate of NC State University he was an avid sports fan and had been a member of the Wolfpack Club for 43 years.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Harriet Hight Mills; his son, Roger Mills, Jr (Linda) of Wilson, NC; his daughter, Laura Mills McGlaughon (Andrew) of Mount Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Michael Mills, Charlie and Benjamin McGlaughon. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Lura Ogburn Hight of Raleigh, NC.
The family will receive friends and family from 1:00 to 1:45 PM on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC, with a Memorial Service to follow at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial gifts to be made to the Rex Healthcare Foundation, 2500 Blue Ridge Road, Suite 325, Raleigh, NC 27607 for the Coffer Suite.
