

Rosalyn Adcock Dupree died peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 13, 2016. “Rosy” was born on November 16, 1915 in Oxford, NC, daughter of Millard Fillmore and Candice Adcock. After graduating from Coker College in 1937, she taught third grade in Harnett County where she lived until her husband opened his law practice in Raleigh in 1940.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, two brothers, and by her beloved husband Federal Judge Franklin T. Dupree, Jr. She is survived by daughters Betsy Dupree and Nan Miller, son-in-law Dr. Philip Miller, granddaughter Dr. Nancy Proctor, grandsons Philip Miller, Brent Miller, and Byron DeMent, and by nine great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Rosy’s caregivers Myrtle Hall, Whitney Bannon, and Jena McDowell for their devotion to Rosy—and for their friendship.
A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Hayes Barton Baptist Church, 1800 Glenwood Avenue, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 15. The family will greet friends in the church parlor after the service.
