Sally Rainwater Pilati

Sally was born on September 24, 1941 in Pensacola, FL, to Brown Veazey Rainwater and Elizabeth Brown Rainwater.

Sally attended Pensacola High School and later graduated from Rochester General Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. Always with an adventurous spirit, Sally moved her three children to Colorado in 1981 where she worked as an orthopedic surgical nurse at Aspen Valley Hospital. In time, her passion for sewing and textiles took her in a different direction and she opened Sweet Dreams retail store in Aspen, CO.

She loved nature and animals, always telling stories of all the pets she’d had since childhood in particular her love for cats, especially black cats.

Sally is survived by her three children, Cristina (Eric) Stevens of Raleigh, NC, Tad Pilati of Raleigh, NC and Ticia Pilati of San Pedro, Belize; four grand children, James Lucas, Cristina Alexandra, Vincent Rainwater, and Enzo Brown, all of Raleigh, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Joseph Ramsey Rainwater.
