Sandra was born April 21, 1957, in Richmond, Virginia to George William and Helen Riner Scott. She was a 1979 graduate of Meredith College, Raleigh, NC. Sandra retired as the Operations Manager/Coordinator for the North Carolina Senior Games, Inc. where she was a friend to many. Sandra was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving is her loving husband, James Manning, and her son, Thomas Manning (Merritt Clark-Manning).
She was preceded in death by her father, George William Scott, in 1991 and her mother, Helen Riner Scott, in 2012.
Sandra’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at UNC Rex Rehabilitation & Nursing Care of Apex, NC for the care, love and compassion shown to Sandra from early June until her final days. The family wants to thank the staff of Transitions Life Hospice who worked seamlessly with the UNC Rex Apex staff, extending comfort and dignity before her passing. An additional thank you goes to the North Carolina Electric Cooperatives for the care and compassion shown to Sandra’s husband, James, during Sandra’s period of declining health.
A Celebration of Sandra’s Life was held at 11:00 am Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Forest Hills Baptist Church, 201 Dixie Trail, Raleigh, with Pastor Mark White officiating. The family received friends immediately following the service at the church.
