The first time I met Sandy was at Beadstruk in downtown Raleigh.  I had signed up to take a wire working class from her.  I was there with Gail, Linda (I think), and Sally, of course.  There was a lot of laughter...and patience on the part of Sandy!  This small group of women had very different personalities, but we all became friends and stayed friends.  Sometimes I am surprised how long these friendships lasted, even after I moved away.  I am truly blessed because for some reason, Sandy called me her friend.  Her warmth, her positive outlook and sense of humor, and her smile are going to be missed.  Every time I wear my bracelet I made in her class or straighten a piece of wire to make it 'behave', I will remember her with joy.  May Light Perpetual shine upon her.

Sandy has always had a special place in the Wenger family.  I first met her in 1978, along with Frank, and their two precious little girls.  She spent her life making a home and a future for her family.  We saw her regularly for family holidays, for trips to the beach, for visits to our home in Williamsburg.  When Frank's health failed, she never complained, and carried on with grace.  She was thrilled with her daughters' choice of husbands, and proud of the family units they created.  In recent years, she talked often of her 3 grandchildren, and of their progress in school and sports.  Most recently, when she needed a pacemaker, she shared with me the fact that she had prayed for God's protection, and felt at peace.  We will all miss you, Sandy, but know that you are in God's care.  Becki W.

Sandy had many interests and was multi-talented.  She shared many of her projects with me, including quilts, greeting cards, zentangle art beaded jewelry and sewing. She was good at all these things, but I think her wire-work jewelry was her most outstanding creative accomplishment.  Sandy worked with silver, gold, semi-precious and precious gems.  She made earrings, bracelets, pendants and rings.  I was fortunate to take two wire-work classes from Sandy at Sally Lewis' Beadstruk store. This spring I asked Sandy if she would teach me more advanced techniques.  She was a patient and positive teacher -- and friend.  I wish we had a little more time.  I was lucky to know Sandy for more than 25 years.  I will miss her very much.    Love,  Linda Powell

Beth, Your soft-spoken mom always seemed happy to see me, sharing a smile and kind words.  So much of our youth was spent together and anyone that endured our teens should get a medal!  I hope you all gain peace knowing she is healed now!  Sending love and support, always!

Beth and Tracy,  I will always remember your Mom as a soft, warm, caring person.  She always had a smile for me and her presence was sweet and fun.  I and many others at St . Paul's will miss her.
