Born in Charlottesville, Virginia, Shawn was a loving father, husband, son, brother, and uncle whose warmth, humor, and steady presence touched everyone who knew him.
Shawn is survived by his wife, Hannah Bowyer, and their daughter, Vidya Vallant, who was the light of his life. He is also survived by his mother, Molly Vallant; his sister, Kerry Vallant Morrow; and his nieces, Maria Morrow and Susanna Morrow, all of whom he adored deeply. Shawn was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Vallant.
Shawn had an accounting degree from North Carolina Wesleyan University, and worked as a manager at a cellular tower property management company. He had an avid love of reading and learning, and a rare sense of fashion. His lifetime love of reading gave him endless general knowledge, a vast vocabulary, and unparalleled eloquence.
His presence made life gentler for everyone around him, and his memory will continue to do the same. His family and friends will carry his spirit with them — in laughter shared, in kindness offered, and in the everyday moments that remind them of his love.
He will be profoundly missed and forever loved.
