Shirley Montgomery Taylor

Shirley Montgomery Taylor, 92, of Raleigh passed away on Thursday November 21, 2013. Shirley was born in Wake Co., November 30, 1920 to the late Don and Beulah Montgomery. Shirley was Miss Hugh Morson High School of 1937. She devoted most of her life to her family and loving and supporting her children and grandchildren. She worked later in life at the NCSU Library before retiring to help her son Steve start and run his business. Her loves including gardening, raising roses, sewing for family and pulling for the WolfPack.

Shirley was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, her husband William Arthur, her Brother Bruce Montgomery and 2 of her beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by Daughter Donna Hunsinger and husband Ken of The Villages, Florida, son William A. Taylor, Jr. and wife Cheryl of Raleigh, and son Stephen Taylor and wife Dorothy of Raleigh as well as 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Bay Leaf Baptist Church Benevolent Fund, 12200 Bayleaf Baptist Church Road, Raleigh, N.C. 27614.

Her family will receive friends Saturday November 23 at Bay Leaf Baptist Church, 12200 Bayleaf Church Rd, Raleigh, NC 27614, from 5 to 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held Sunday November 24, 2013 at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27603, at 3:00 pm.

The Family would like to thank the loving and professional staff of Elmcroft at North Ridge for caring for Mom for the past few years and for Liberty Hospice of Raleigh for their support in the final days.
