Sukhwinder Singh Virk, born on April 1, 1957, passed on March 1st, 2021. He was born in Jalmana, District Karnal, Haryana and spent his formative years working and helping to manage his ancestral farm and land. He migrated to the United States in 1978 with just a suitcase and $20 in pursuit of the American dream.
His early years on American soil produced a series of testimonies from struggling by walking in the snow to clock in and wash dishes to triumph by landing his first corporate experience in the RTP. He married in 1983 and solidified his lifelong residency in Durham, NC and established & raised his family there. In 1988 he completed an Associate Degree in Engineering at Durham Technical Community College and continued growing within his corporate career as a Field Engineer at Northern Telecom.
He was a cocktail of real life situational comedy, extreme passions, deep love, and all combined within a heart of gold. A true family man who carried the traditions of the world from which he left but also a student of the world in which he landed. At the end of his story, it can be said he indeed fulfilled the American dream.
He leaves behind his wife, Rupinder Virk, two daughters Harleen Virk and Puneet Virk, and his beloved extended family and friends.
He will be missed and is loved, and now is in his eternal home with his Creator.
