Surinder Kumar Dheer

March 1, 1939January 8, 2021

Dr. Surender Dheer came from India to study organic chemistry and with only $20 in his pocket, made a life for himself and his family in the United States. Surendra (known as Suri by his friends) was and will always be a beloved husband, proud father of three, loving grandfather, and great friend to all who knew him. He had a zeal for science, an infectious passion for life, and a unique ability to connect with those fortunate enough to cross his path. His list of redeemable qualities is beyond capturing in a few words; to put it simply, Dr. Suri Dheer refused to waste a moment in life and embraced every second. Whether this meant teaching new scientists in the lab, taking his family on vacations, teaching his kids how to play golf, or cooking new dishes, he embraced life at every turn. He left a lasting impression and touched the lives of those around him, earning the reputation of a genuine, heartfelt, and compassionate man who would do all in his power to help a friend in need. The persistent smile on his face reminded all that life is for the living. And that glowing smile remained with him during the last few moments we had with him. As many would say, we are not to be saddened by his passing, but to cherish all the moments we have had with him. Our Dr. Suri Dheer has touched all our lives and will surely always be with us. All you have to do is close your eyes and think of the smile of the man you knew.

Our heart goes out to our very dear friend Mr.Dheer’s family. We met Mr. Dheer when my kid and their kids were in elementary school. The kids brought us together and became closed friends. There were times we had dinner together with the kids in Taco Bell , Mr. Dheer shared many good things, his love for his family, work, friends, and love for life and respect others.I saw in him a humbleness, compassion, kindness in his heart.I cannot express enough my sadness of the loss of a very very dear friend and I’m very thankful to met and know him and I appreciate his friendship profoundly, and he will be always in our hearts.may he Rest In Peace and may his memory be a blessing.

We are sorry to know of dear Surinder Ji's departure to the heavenly abode, and may God keep his soul in peace and give strength to all family. We met Dr. Surinder outside his house, we were looking around this area to move and that is how we met and he invited us into his house and food and encouraged us to buy the house on next street and we ended up good friends. He was very gentle soul, smart scientist and always keeping himself busy in some project of work, game or home. We will miss him dearly. His memory will always be fresh in our hearts.

Dr. Suri was a kind, friendly and a very warm person. He was empathetic and made life in Doylestown more enjoyable for everyone who worked with him. We called him Suri Uncle and he lived up to that in every sense. He treated my friend Nikita and me like his daughters and was always ready to help when we were in trouble. He literally took my father's place and offered to buy my wedding dress for a court ceremony. That gesture moved me to tears. He is missed dearly and remembered with a lot of affection.

We met Uncle just a few years back. His sweet smile, love for music and love towards young children was very evident.
He was such a joy to be around and will be greatly missed.
In my eyes, he was a fantastic scientist, a superb father and grandfather and the most humble man. People go, but their memories live. His family and students will carry his great legacy forward. He will be missed!!

I have not met you uncle, but I know for sure that if God had created a perfect human, that would have been you. There are very few people about whom we only hear good things, and you were one of them . A person with no malice, who made friends wherever he went. Rest in peace uncle 🙏
