A graduate of Bluefield College, Susan was a proud West Virginian and never missed an opportunity to share her love for her home state. Although she was a mountain girl, Topsail Beach NC is where she found joy, having visited since she was a teenager making, memories with family and friends. In addition to being a loving mother, daughter, sister and aunt, she had a passion for animal welfare advocacy and loved being able to make a positive impact through her long career with BLUE Buffalo. In her free time, she was an award-winning artist, writer and avid scrapbooker, delighting in making hundreds of scrapbook pages chronicling important moments in the lives of loved ones.
She is predeceased by her sister Lori Ann Stamper. She is survived by her son Brent William Smith and her daughter Stacey Anne Smith; her parents Barbara and William Stamper; her brother W. Todd Stamper and her nephews W. Riley Stamper (Analisa) and Jones Stamper (Julia).
A celebration of her life will be held at Forest Hills Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC on Sat. Jan. 18, 2025 at 2:00pm.
