Jeanette & Family - I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Barton. We were friends and fraternity brothers at Appalachian State. Although I had not seen Barton in many years, I will always remember him as being one of the most kind, sincere and gentle spirits I have ever known. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. May God watch over each of you!

I was saddened to hear of Barton's passing. I know Barton from Appalachian State as a fellow brother in Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. Our brotherhood is greatly dimished by the loss.

I will keep Jeanette, David, Claire and the extended family in my prayers. I hope that the fond memories of this fine man will, in time, surpass the grief of his loss.

Dear Jen., David and Claire,  It was with great sadness I learned of Barton's passing.  I send my sincere sympathy in the knowledge that I can, in a small way, relate to the depth of sorrow you now feel, having lost my father in my 14th year in similar circumstances.  We did not meet often, but enough to know he was a man well respected in his community, who loved his family.  He will be missed.  I hold you all in my thoughts and reassure you that the sadness will pass and your lives will always reflect the influence of his love.

Our thoughts are with you at this, the saddest time of your lives.  We will all miss Barton so very much.  He was such fun to be with on holidays here in Oz and in your home country.  His cheery hello and conversation at the end of the phone was always a delight to listen to.  We loved the way he embraced the Australian culture and would talk about a ute, rather than a pick-up.  He was a wonderful uncle to Claire and brother-in-law to Di and Bob.    We will cherish the happy times we shared together over the years and know that our lives have been enriched through his.  We will remember Barton always.

Barton was a fine and wonderful person.I told him a few times that he was a needle in a HAY STACK .He helped my son a few years ago.In a way he saved his life.We will never forget Barton. I MADE HIM AND HIS FAMILY XMAS CANDY AND COOKIES a few years ago.He could not thank me enough it was like I had gave him a million dollars.This Man Will Be Missed.God has BLESSED him he is at peace now.THE MILLER FAMILY OF LIBERTY NC.
