Tuan Linh Do, 86, passed away on Saturday April 21, 2012 in Raleigh. Tuan was born on July 30th, 1926 in Hanoi, Vietnam. He was the son of Chiem Linh Do and Lang Thi Tam. Tuan married his wife, Le Thi Kim Quy and moved to Saigon South Vietnam where they had six children. In Vietnam, he was a swimming instructor as well as an outstanding swimmer who won numerous awards all over the country.
Later, he joined the South Vietnamese Airborne Division and became a commander of his base. He served in the military for approximately 30 years. After honorable discharge from the military, he worked for the American Embassy which enabled him to bring his family safely to the United States America in 1975. Upon his arrival in Raleigh, he worked for IT&T and retired after 18 years of service with the company.
He was a gentle, patient, and caring person. His contagious smile and singing always brought joy and happiness to everyone.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Le Thi Kim Quy, and survived by two brothers, Thong Linh Do and Hoan Linh Do and one sister, Trang Thi Do. Lovingly remembered by Daughters, Thoa Do and husband Phung Van Nguyen, Thao Do Treslar and husband Brian K Treslar. Sons, Son Linh Do, Duy Linh Do and wife Cheryl, Tien Linh Do and wife Ha (Frances). Grandchildren, Maclinh Nguyen and wife Kelly, Macvu Nguyen and wife Annie, Harrison Do, Grant Do, Pierce Do, Brandon Do , Dylan Do, Zuri Do, Lucas Treslar, and Olivia Treslar. Great grandsons, Tyler and Sebastian Nguyen.
The family will receive friends and family on Friday April 27, from 7:00-9:00 pm, at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh. The funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 28 in the Chapel at the funeral home. Graveside service will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
