Vera Brown Keith, 72, of Raleigh, NC, passed away at Duke Hospital in Durham, on Monday, September 9, 2013. She was born and raised in Leicester, North Carolina on March 10, 1941, daughter of the late Rev. Denver and Flossie Edwards Brown.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Jack Keith; sons, Wayne (Teresa), Ronald (Andrea), and Donald (Bonnie); 6 grandchildren, Courtney, Chantelle, Chad, Sheena, Craig, and Ana; and a great grandson, Damon.
Vera was a member of Sorrell’s Grove Baptist Church, where she was the pianst for about 14 years. She had 30 years of service with the United States Post Office. She was a loving wife and was married 27 and one half years to Jack Keith. She had 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 2pm in the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, NC 27612. Interment will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12-2pm prior to the service. Officiating will be Pastor Andrew Brown, of Covington, GA. Singing will be Dane Tudor, of Roanoke Rapids, NC. Pallbearers will be her five nephews and her brother.
