Vickie is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Stephen Mallard Whaley, daughters; Stephanie Whaley (Ray Montgomery), Jenna Nunnery (Jason), Blair Whaley (Patrick Blackley), grandchildren; Presley Nunnery and Bowen Nunnery.
Vickie was easily defined as a true southern belle. A few enduring compliments from her husband since December 28, 1969 from him would be “she was the best wife a man cover ever have” and “to know her is to love her”. She has a heart of gold and that could be shown through her love of delivering someone in need a homemade casserole, she was a second mom to so many, being a prayer warrior or just the simple way her kindness showed through to others on a daily basis. A very simple and classic lady to say the least, but you would never see her without her lipstick or her earrings on. A member of Crossroads Fellowship Church, a homemaker to her three girls, and the best wife, mother and grandma her family could ask for. Later on she worked for the Wake County School System as an teacher assistant, always trying to help others. She taught her girls properly and not missing any details, down to making sure that they knew how to write “thank you” cards when needed. If you were blessed to receive one of her special cards, hold onto it and know it was made with love! She was always thinking of others before she thought of herself. She was an angel on earth to so many.
