Virginia Stone Poole, 83, passed away on August 9, 2026 in the comfort of her home in Raleigh. Born on April 5, 1943 in Portsmouth, Virginia; she was the daughter of the late Joel Stone and Hilda Upchurch Stone and wife of the late Ronald Lee Poole (2016).
She grew up in Raleigh on Ebenezer Church Road and graduated from Cary High. She enjoyed taking care of her husband, Ronald and making a home for their two children. Virginia loved jewelry and collecting elephants and paperweights. She had been a member of Bethel Baptist in Cary for many years and loved her church family as well.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Ronald Lee “Ronnie” Poole, Jr., and Rhonda Poole Earley and husband Roger; grandson: Daniel and Kelli McLeod, all of Raleigh: and other extended family and friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brother: James Stone.
Family will receive friends on Friday, August 14, 2026 from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home in Raleigh. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Pastor Brian Norman of Bethel Baptist Church. Graveside Services will follow at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens.
