Wallace C. Terry, 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on March 6, 1938, to the late Mary and Julian Terry, Wallace grew up in a lively home with five brothers and two sisters who shared many wonderful memories together.
On March 15, 1958, Wallace married his sweetheart, Joyce, beginning a beautiful journey that spanned 67 years of love. Together, they built a life filled with family, joy, and adventure.
Wallace had a lifelong love of sports and could often be found on the baseball field. He played on many teams over the years and was proud to have earned the title of Home Run Champion! After more than 24 years of service as a mechanic for the State of North Carolina Motor Pool, Wallace retired—but he wasn’t one to slow down for long. He went on to work as a ranger at the Zebulon Golf Course, where he made countless friends and discovered a new passion for the game of golf.
To those who knew him, Wallace was more than a husband, father, and papa—he was a steady presence, always ready with a helping hand, a sense of humor and a good story. His love for his family ran deep, and his greatest joy came from the time he spent with them.
Wallace will be remembered for his big heart, his easy smile, and the way he made everyone around him feel special. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will live on in all who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by his family and friends.
