In addition to his wife Elke, Walter is survived by his daughters, Tanya R. Emslie of Cochranville, PA, and Sylvia R. Reed, of Dallastown, PA; his granddaughters, Sierra and Sedona Reed; and his sisters, Sigrid Whaley of Chestertown, PA, and Karin Von Wilckens, of Germany.
A Memorial Service is being planned for a later date, with burial to be held in St. Paul's Church Cemetery in Chestertown. MD.
