William Mark Cohen

Bill was born March 8, 1958, in Manhasset, NY to Howard Cohen and the late Diane Trommer Cohen. He was educated in the Herricks school system in Nassau County, NY, and attended Ithaca College in NY. Upon graduating, he then attended Adelphi University in Garden City, NY to earn a Masters in Sports Management. Bill’s work career consisted of several jobs, including managing Security at Alexander’s Department Store in Rego Park, NY and later as a sales associate at Zany Brainy in Roslyn, NY. Due to health issues, Bill retired at an early age.

Bill was an avid Mets and Jets fan. He liked working in his woodshop and listening to all genres of music in Bill’s Music Room. He had a big heart for the dogs in his life – his grand pup, Philadelphia, and the late Madison, Bailey, Dee Dee, and Brandy. Bill enjoyed grilling and having a beer on the back porch.

In addition to his wife of 33 years, Bill is survived by his children, daughters Samantha Adele, of Philadelphia, PA, and Allison Leah, of Washington, DC; his father, Howard Cohen of Cary, NC; his sister, Lauren Tepper also of Cary, NC and his niece, Amanda Bottitta, of Oceanside, CA.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mausoleum at Raleigh Memorial Park. Officiating will be Rev. Stefanie Etzbach-Dale, a close friend of Nancy and Bill. For all of those in attendance, masks/facial coverings will be required, and social distancing encouraged.
