Born in St Louis, MO, William graduated from Cleveland High School in the class of 1962. William served his country in Vietnam and is a veteran of the United States Airforce.
He raised his family in Flanders, NJ before relocating to Raleigh NC in 1986. William graduated summa cum laude from Liberty University where he earned the degree of Bachelor of Science. He owned his own packaging business and retired in 2008.
William was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kristy Edwards, and is survived by Shirley Edwards of Raleigh, NC; his brother Michael Edwards and his wife, Joyce, of St. Louis, MO; his son William Edwards and his wife, Elizabeth, of Raleigh NC; his son Robert Edwards and his wife, Teresa, of Mebane, NC; and his grandchildren, William, Dylan, and Robert Edwards. William’s wisdom, passion and love for his family will be missed.
