Bill received his BS in Science from Lynchburg College in 1956, his MA in Science from Rutgers University in 1979 and his MA in Education from NCSU in 2012. One of the highlights of his career was in aerospace engineering at NASA’s Manned Spacecraft Center as one of the developers of the Apollo Lunar Lander.
Bill was predeceased by his brother FH Scott and his sister Virginia Russo.
He is survived by his wife Ann (Willis) Scott of Raleigh, his two daughters: Cathy Martin and husband Bob of Garner, and his daughter Suzanne Richards and her husband Peter of NJ; and their three sons: Adam, Will and Jack.
A small service will be held on Sunday February 26, 2017 at 3 pm at the Highland United Methodist Church Columbarium in Raleigh.
