Albert was born in Randolph, Ohio on August 13, 1924 to parents Albert and Edna Huth. Albert graduated from Randolph High with the class of 1942. He was drafted into WWII where he served as a rifleman in the 36th infantry. While in the European theater he participated in the Battle of Salerno in Italy where he was wounded and earned the Purple Heart. Albert then spent 14 months recuperating from his wounds in White Sulpher Springs, West Virginia. Albert went on to become a pattern maker at Standard Pattern Works in Akron. He subsequently bought the business and remained the owner/operator for 47 years until his retirement. Albert had a fondness for baseball and in the 1950’s founded the Randolph Hot Stove program. He loved to golf, recording three hole-in-ones in his lifetime and truly enjoyed being a grandpa. Albert was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Randolph.
Albert in survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary and his children: Harold (Cheryl) Huth of Randolph, David Huth of Randolph, Bernadette (Ray) Brooks of Ravenna, Patricia Lowe of Brimfield, Michael (Loretta) Huth of Atwater, Jane (William) Dehart of Alliance and Joan (William) Whitacre of Marlboro. He also leaves his 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Surviving also is his sister Kathleen (Dale) Dollinger of Barberton, his brother Ralph of Tuscon, Arizona and many loving nieces and nephews.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, his son Edward, his sister Irene Spadaro and brother Wayne Huth.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Father James Lang and Father Ed Wieczorek will take place at 11:00am on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at St. Joseph Church in Randolph. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
