I don’t even know how to begin how much I loved her she was my best friend my grandma my mama she was my everything I’ll never be able to do anything in my daily life without thinking about her because she was always there no matter what I’ll also never be able to thank her enough for everything she’s done for me and everyone around her she was the closest to perfect you could get on this earth I am glad she’s where she has always wanted to be, in heaven with her son and family she missed and I can’t wait to join her someday.

I remember asking you several times during my life Grams, why me? Why am I still alive after everything and my answer came when I grabbed your hand that Friday night and we talked about who would stay with Grandpa while Ashley was away. Easy answer, me, because of the wonderful selfless example set by Alice my whole life.  When family calls there is always someone that can step up or stand in. I was grateful to be there and able to take that worry away from her for the moment. She taught me love can fix just about anything. No matter the situation if you add love it changes things drastically. Anything good in me is a direct result of her love in my life. She was always the person that anyone and everyone could count on. There's not a person that could ever compare to her caring compassionate character, so the world truly lost a great one. Growing up it was so normal to be over at grams and Gramps, that even my friends frequented the place. She made it a true home built of love and ran the place like the CEO of Amazon or something, she was magical.  She was very coherent until the cusp of the last night of her battle and all she needed was for everyone to know how very much she loved them. She told me over and over each and everyone of them she had something beautiful to say about them and her love for them . She also frequently said that she felt loved that everyone came to see her.She had unique bonds with each of her grandchildren and even great-grandchildren.  I was taught by Alice that everthing happens for a reason, so all I can do is trust God knows what he's doing. I pray like you taught me, to have eyes that see the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad, and a soul that never loses faith in God. I will live by that Grams and make sure Camielle follows her dreams and goals and love my family harder than ever ❤️

Aunt Lea is the last of my mother's 3 sisters to pass to Heaven. Lea was special! She had a twinkle in her eye when she spoke and a soft kind voice that focused on whomever she was speaking with.
My friendship with Aunt Lea began when I was a toddler and  she & Uncle Doc lived with us for a short period of time. I think I was @ 4 years old  when I remember Aunt Lea polishing my fingernails! I stayed with Aunt Lea and Uncle Doc most summers growing up...Lea an I spent the visits doing "the crafts of the month" that she collected all year long for me....and watching Elvis Presley movies. I visited Aunt Lea and Uncle Doc when I was dating my first boyfriend in high school. I was fortunate to re-connect with Aunt Helen, Uncle Doc and Uncle Bub over recent years when visiting Ohio.
Love to ALL her family!  We are blessed to have had her in our lives!

My best friend of 35+ years has gone to her heavenly home. I will dearly miss my closest confidante & in my heart, my older sister.  Spending time with her made me a better human.  Rest easy in God’s hands Alice, you are so deserving of paradise.  She may be temporarily gone from our sight but not forever.  I will have the privilege of her company again, just at a different location.   
I am looking forward to “catching up”.   Love you girl & save me a seat.
