Barbara A Sampson

Barbara Ann Sampson, age 84 of Ravenna, passed away June 23, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born September 28, 1941, in Ravenna, Ohio, to parents Robert and Anna (Bretti) Huggins. She graduated in 1959 from Ravenna High School. She worked as a secretary at Oak Rubber in Ravenna, Ohio where she met her husband, David Sampson. They were married March 25, 1960 in Charlestown, Ohio.

Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She devoted her life to caring for her daughter Kathy. Barbara was an avid reader. She also enjoyed shopping and traveling. Barbara always had a deep love for her cats and dogs, including her dear Dream. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Ravenna. Barbara was the bookkeeper for Sampson Welding that our father owned and operated.

She is survived by her children: Connie (Mike) Hall, Kathy Sampson, and Jennifer (Michael) Smith, her grandchildren: Meganne Braddock, Amanda (Craig) Gilli, Zacary (Riley) Dailey, and Amber (Travis) Adkins, her great-grandchildren: Aurora, Wyatt, Carson, Connor, Clara, Mia, and Travis Jr., as well as generations of loving nieces, nephews, and extended family, including her sister-in-law, Francis Davis.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband David Sampson Jr., her sister Linda Huggins, and her brother Robert Huggins.

Friends and family will be received Friday, June 26, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM with her funeral service officiated by Kathy Cordaro at 12:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E Main St, Ravenna. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.
