Beatrice Irene Petersen, age 98 of Ravenna, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021, at her home. She was born February 3, 1923, in Monroe County, Ohio, to parents Mitchell and Zena (Lehman) Talbot. Growing up with nine siblings, Beatrice became the family cook at a young age. She moved to the Cleveland area to find work and start her own family. Beatrice retired from Vernitron in Bedford. She is survived by her children Michael (Julie) Petersen and Carol (Jim) Shorf, her grandchildren: Kelly McCourt, Kimberly Jaber, Christopher (Sara) Petersen, and Gregory (Mahin) Petersen, as well as her great-grandchildren: Leigha, Jeffery, Alyssa, Mila, Cyra, and Aryo, along with generations of nieces and nephews. Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Herman Petersen, her daughter Dorothy Petersen, and her siblings: Ima, Norma, Vera, Eugene, Ivan, Buena, Roy, Grace, and Martha. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, canning, quilting, and watching her soap operas. Her wishes for cremation are being honored and graveside services are scheduled for Thursday, April 15, 2021, at 12:00 PM at Maple Grove Cemetery.
