Betty Jane Flegal, 80, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, March 6, 2019.
Betty was born on November 22, 1938 in Toronto, Ohio to parents Alva and Clara (Dennis) Bowles. She had been retired as an aid at Hattie Larlham and in earlier years attended the Portage Community Chapel. Betty had been a wonderful wife and mother and a great cook.
Betty is survived by her sons: Kevin (Tammy) Flegal and Allen R. Flegal. Surviving also are her grandchildren: Donald Flegal, Erik (Katy) Flegal and her great-granddaughter Penelope Rose Flegal. She also leaves her siblings: Charles (Nancy) Brown, Ralph (Carrie) Brown and Lillian McVay as well as her sister-in-law Kim Bowles and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John A. Flegal, whom she married November 10, 1956, her siblings: Phyllis Bartles and Charles Bowles, brother-in-law Clyde McVay and her beloved dog “Missy”.
Per her wishes cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled.
