Brian was born May 18, 1962 in Cuyahoga Falls to Richard E. Tannert and Bette Lea Yacavona. Brian graduated from Southeast High School in 1980 and went on to work for his father’s business, Tannert Trucking in Ravenna, before becoming a machinist through Akron Machine Institute in 1987.
Brian was a passionate fisherman and passed his love of fishing onto his children, Deena and Jacob. In addition to fishing, Brian was a lover of all 80’s hairband music, classic cars, and a faithful fan of the Cleveland Browns.
Brian enjoyed living life on his own terms and often had a solution for everything, if he didn’t know how to fix something, he found a way. He resided in Virginia Beach in his earlier years, a location that always held a special place in his heart.
Brian is survived by his children Deena (Tiffani) Tannert and Jacob Tannert; Sisters: Brenda Brown, of Garrettsville, Becky Perkins of Virginia, and Danyell Tannert of North Carolina, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Bette Yacavona, Richard ‘Dick’ and Phyllis Tannert, Grandparents, Rudolph & Dorothy Tannert and Charles & Nellie Yacavona, and his brother-in-law Lester “Carl” Brown.
Brian’s wishes for cremation are being honored. Friends may gather in remembrance on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 2pm-4pm at Wood-Kortright-Borkoski in Ravenna.
