

She was born March 14, 1944, in Bedford, Ohio, to parents Edward and Cecelia “Babe” (Hudson) Gannon. Cece graduated from University of Akron and then began a 36 year career as a fourth grade teacher with St. Joseph School in Mantua and Southeast Local Schools.
Cecelia was a member of St. Peter of the Fields Parish in Rootstown, VFW Post 1055 Auxiliary in Ravenna, and the Friends of Catholic War Veterans through St. Peter’s. She was also a longtime member of the Edinburg Fire Department Spouses. Cece enjoyed playing Bunko with her friends.
Cecelia is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Raymond William Knispel, and her sister Nancy.
She is survived by her son and his wife Raymond “Ray” and Patricia “Lee”, her daughter and her husband Maureen “Mo” and Paul, her grandchildren Ciaran, Madison, and Freddie (Faith), and her sister Pat.
Friends and family will be received Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, with funeral services following at 12:00 PM. Private burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on a later date.
