
He was born June 15, 1925, in Mingo Junction, Ohio, a son of the late Bernard and Eleanor (Voit) St. John. Charles worked on the railroad for over 37 years with many companies, retiring from Conrail. He was a Baptist by faith, and served as a deacon at several churches throughout his life. Chuck loved everything about trains and had a fondness for Chinese food.
He is survived by his children: Charles G. (Linda) St. John Jr. of Ravenna, Douglas St. John of Stow, Karen Louise Smith of Tennessee, Robert Lee St. John of Las Vegas; grandchildren: William St. John, Charles G. St. John III, Douglas St. John, Scott St. John, Ashley Amrose, Casandra St. John, Allyssa St. John; great-grandson: Jose Amrose; brother: Rev. Frank St. John of Orlando, FL; and his sister Evelyn Hipple of Harrisburg, PA.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lula St. John on September 12, 2001, his son Robert Lee St. John, and his brother Bernard St. John.
Friends will be received Monday, August 1, 2011, from 5-8 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg.
