She was born July 5, 1957, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School. Cheryl was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
As a member of St. Patrick’s Parish in Kent she was very active and enjoyed the prayer shawl ministry. Cheryl would often stay up late nights reading and knitting but her true passion for people and humanity was felt by every person she tirelessly supported. Her schedule was full of volunteer work, book clubs, travel, knitting groups, bunco, and youth sports. Whether it be for her children, her grandchildren, friend’s children, or her children’s friends’ children she was always a beacon of support. Her impact on many people will be everlasting; even though her physical presence will be greatly missed her spirit and soul will live on in all the people she loved and cared deeply for.
Cheryl is survived by her husband Jim, her son Michael (Alison), and her daughters Celia and Lacey. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Paige, Portia, Connor, Gavin, Camryn, Wyatt, Everett, and Lukas, her siblings: Bob Hursell, Vickie Ciarcia, and Terri (Dan) Brunswick, along with her niece and nephews Nikki, Kelly, and Corey.
She was preceded in death by her mother Emma Louise (Koerner) Reed.
Cheryl’s family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of the Western Reserve for the compassionate care given to her. Her wishes for cremation are being honored and no services are scheduled. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.wood-kortright-borkoski.com.
