Christie Lynn Laws

Christie was born in Monroe, LA. on April 19, 1975. She graduated from Ravenna High School with the class of 1993 and went on to attend the police academy and study criminology and psychology at Kent State University. Strong willed, hardworking and driven, Christie held many supervisory and management positions with Jo-Ann Stores, Inc., the Bertram Inn & Conference Center and most recently was the manager at Cashland in Eastlake, Ohio. Christie was a very smart women who had a funny, comical side to her. She was very compassionate and caring and would do anything for anybody. Christie enjoyed reading and writing and held an interest in paranormal science and psychic power. She loved to read and write, enjoyed music and was extremely passionate about her family, especially her son Marcus, whom her world revolved around.

Christie is survived by her loving son Marcus Summerlin, her mother Susan Swink, step-father John Swink and siblings: Shayla Swink, John (Jennifer Cross) Swink Jr., Travis Thomas Jr. and A.J. Lundstrom. Also surviving is her grandmother Tomiko Kostric, uncle & aunts: Robert (Kim) Kostric, Shirley (Bob Coffin) Kostric, her cousin Bonnie (Frank) Monfiletto and her nieces and nephews: Arrianna, Brennan, Julian, Joshua and Sophia. Left also to cherish her memory are Marcus’s God parents Darren and Jennifer Pezzo.

Her grandfather Adolph M Kostric preceded her in death.

Friends are invited to celebrate Christie’s life on Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.
