

He was born November 18, 1930, in Morgantown, West Virginia, a son of the late Albert and Grace (Shaw) McDonald. Mac was also preceded in death by his step-father Lawrence McDonald.
He was a proud veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War. Mr. McDonald was a life member of VFW Post 1055 and American Legion Post 331. He retired from the Chrysler Plant in Twinsburg in 1992. Mac was a member of the Gates City Baptist Church in Greensboro and a former member of the Christian Missionary Alliance.
Mac is survived by his wife of 58 years Shirley (Shahan) McDonald, his sons: Michael A. (Jamie) McDonald of Mississippi and Brian E. (Mary) McDonald of New York. Mac’s memory will also be cherished by his grandchildren: Keith (Kathy) McDonald, Cory (Charity) McDonald, Mindy (PJ) Toth, Stephanie Burch McDonald, Aaron McDonald, Briana Bennett, Duncan McDonald, Colleen Kelly, Jamon McDonald, and Zak Shultz, as well as his great-grandchildren: Madyson and Sydney McDonald, Lucas Toth, Pierce and Claudia Burch, and Abigail McDonald.
Friends will be received Thursday, October 25, 2012, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be officiated by Reverend Lester Bolen and Reverend Mike Popik on Friday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Park Cemetery in Garrettsville with military honors.
