Danny Ray Markham
October 1, 1947 – February 26, 2023

IN THE CARE OF
Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home
Danny Ray Markham, age 75 of Atwater, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023.
He was born October 1, 1947, in Camden, Tennessee, to parents James Albert and Patsy (Henderson) Markham. Danny was raised a country boy and enjoyed all of the things that went with it. Cornbread, buttermilk and okra were right up his alley. He voluntarily served his country in the Vietnam War, as a veteran of the US Marine Corps. He was one of the first 16 paramedics to serve the city of Akron and retired as a Lieutenant with the Akron Fire Department.
Danny was a jokester and loved a good laugh. He could fix or rig up just about anything. Danny was such a caring and loving person. He would have given anyone the shirt off his back. He spent his days relaxing at home on his porch drinking his coffee with the company of his dogs and grand dogs. Danny had a tremendous amount of love for his wife of 50 years, his kids, and his granddaughter.
Danny is survived by his beloved wife Virginia (Brunst) Markham, who he married July 29, 1972. He is also survived by his children: Jason (Andrea) Markham, Kelly (Mark) Martin, and Timothy (Tiffany) Markham, his granddaughter Savannah Martin, his sister Judy Kennedy, and his brother Norman Markham, along with countless other loving extended family and friends.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Kenneth Markham and his sister Marty Davis.
His wishes for cremation are being honored. Friends and family will be received Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 12:00 – 4:00 PM at the Randolph Senior Center, 1657 State Route 44 in Randolph, with a Time of Remembrance at 1:00 PM.
