

He was born April 4, 1941, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, to parents William G. and Betty (Roberts) Harris. Clark grew up in Brady Lake, where he served alongside his father on the Volunteer Fire Department. He was a chemistry and physics teacher at Southeast High School for many years until his retirement in 1998.
Clark graduated from Parsons College, Ball State University, Kent State University, and studied astrophysics at John Carroll University. He was a member of the photojournalist guild, Sigma Delta Chi, and also taught photojournalism at Ball State. Clark was a Martha Holdings Jennings Scholar and helped write grants for Southeast Schools and plan the curriculum.
He also was known to rescue stray animals and loved his horses. Clark built two homes including all of the electrical and plumbing work. He also enjoyed kayaking and classical music. Later in life, his focus shifted to his grandchildren.
Clark is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years Sharon (Hogan) Harris, his son David Matthew (Dr. Stephanie Schnetz) Harris, his sister Dr. Lois (Deb Crespin) Harris, and his brother-in-law Gary (Karen) Hogan. Clark’s memory will also be cherished by his granddaughters Emma Marie and Madison Jade Harris, his niece Kyla (Lee) Daniels, his nephew Matt Hogan, best friends Dave and Sue Claytor, and Jeremey and Stephanie Witherow, along with his “unofficial grandchildren” Isabelle, Jared, and Tyler Witherow.
Friends will be received THURSDAY, October 8, 2015, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Larry Baldridge on Friday at 1:30 PM. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
