Diane Ella Gray

Diane Ella Gray, 66 of Ravenna, OH, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday July 30, 2018 after a brief illness.

She was born on October 8, 1951 a daughter of the late William Alvin Gray and Emma Jane (Roswell) Gray. Diane spent her life helping the people in her community, especially those with disabilities. She worked as a bus driver for Portage County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities for many years and retired in 2010. She continued to dedicate her time to those in need by working as the transportation director of Emerald Transportation until 2017.

Diane is preceded in death by her sister Joyce Braswell (Gray). She is survived by her sons: Ron (Kathleen) Gray and Andrew Mullins, her brother-in-law Reginald Braswell, niece Lori Braswell and cat Simba. Many other relatives and friends will miss her.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family suggests donations be made to the Portage County APL or Special Olympic Ohio.

Diane was a strong caring woman. She always had an open ear and Truly cared. She never forgot about her employee's even after they moved on to another job. If you met her once she stayed in your thoughts for life. So sad to hear about your loss. She'll be missed and always remembered for her generous caring ways.

My sincerest sympathies. Diane ALWAYS WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND to help people with disabilities and their families.
I remember one time I called her for help, she personally took a family out of county so they could attend their father’s funeral. She always figured a way to make things work for people. She will be deeply missed

Diane was a great & caring lady who I have known since our first job together at The Raven Drive In. (late 60's) I also had the pleasure of working with her the last 7 yrs before she finally retired the 2nd time !! (at both transportations)
