Dolores Maxwell Chic

Dolores Maxwell Chic, 84, of Ravenna, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018.

Dolores was born on May 18, 1934 in Institute, West Virginia to parents Magnus and Goldie Meadows. She had been a resident of Ravenna, Ohio since 1973 where she raised her family with her husband of 65 years, John Chic. Dolores had been a pre-school teacher at Storybook House in Ravenna, retiring after 31 years of teaching. She loved baking, and shopping and liked to donate to Goodwill. She had a heart of gold and personally took care of many of the children’s needs outside of her responsibilities at Storybook House. Most of all she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Dolores is survived by her husband John Chic and her children: John Chic, Cynthia Chic, Mark Chic and Marcia Chic. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Micah (Briana Ballinger) Chic-Colbert, Ethan Chic-Colbert, Jonathan Chic, Mrs. Ciara Chic-Kimbrough and Juan Chic. She also leaves many loving great-grandchildren and one sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings.

Friends will be received on Monday, July 16, 2018 at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna from 11:00am to 12:00pm where funeral services, officiated by Elder James Sanders, will be held at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.

I don't know how I missed seeing this obituary My heart goes out to the entire family Losing a faithful and loving wife and Mother takes its toll but the love and compassion she gave and shared will sustain you when nothing else will trust me May God continue to bless and keep watch over you and may He grant you His peace during this difficult time I pass God's peace to all of you and may He forever remind you of the love the she had for all of you She is your angel and will always be a part the very best of all of you.
